Vringo is a fun new way to communicate with your family and friends - via video ringtones (Vringos). You can share short video clips each time your Vringo friends make a phone call to you and when ever you call them. Instead of the audio ringtone you having today, a videoclip will popup to your screen from your Handset player with a clip that your friends have chosen to share with you.

WHO WOULD USE IT?

You can use Vringo to share funny moments you captured on your mobile with your close friends.
If you wish to surprise your friends on their birthday with a special clip you prepared in advanced.

Movie addicts who wish to see and share the latest previews on their phones.

WALK THROUGH

First you have to join the Vringo Beta trial at http://three.vringo.com/

When you have registered to the service you will receive an SMS notification with link to download the application directly to your handset. If you have a Symbian S60 mobile you may see ‘security warning’ - ignore it. Then install it and log in using your username and password, Now you are ready to run and use the service.

To select your Vringo you should go to the Library and under the directories: Movies, Music, Comedy, Cartoons, User generated etc choose the Vringo which fits you best



Another option for you is to record a video clip from your handset camera and select it to be your Vringo. Think of the possibility: you saw Madonna running in Hyde Park and you caught it on your handset, wouldn’t you share it with your close friends?

Recording a Vringo is invoked from the Options menu or simply by opening the camera lid while the Vringo User Interface is open.
As soon as the camera is activated the user begins recording a Vringo clip – the maximum length of the recording time is 15 seconds.

Once the clip is captured, the user can:
- Set as My Vringo – this sets the clip as the user's Vringo. On the user's home page, the clip will both appear in the My Vringo box and it will also appear in the Vringo application.
- Add to My Collection – after which that clip is available in the user's Vringo Collection.
- Add to Public Library - Uploading a clip implies that from this point on any user in the community site can find this clip in the User Created category.
- Preview Vringo enables the user to preview the clip before uploading it.
- Discard Vringo enables the user to discard the clip altogether.

You can select clips that other users have generated by selecting them in the User Created Library.



To be able share your Vringos you need to Invite your friends from the Buddies directory. Enter their phone number, and an SMS will be send to them with link to the Vringo site. Or use the 'sent to a friend' option on neXt site and a link to Vringo site will be send to them via Email or Mobile.

When any pals changes their Vringo – either by a new clip from the website or by recording a user generated Vringo clip on the device – the corresponding item will automatically refresh on your Vringo Pals list both on the handset and on the website and within a few moments will be upload on your handset.

The moment you have a few Vringos you can select which one of them you want as the active one from your Vringos Directory.

Incoming Calls

When the user's phone receives a call from one of the user's pals, after two rings the pal's Vringo auto-plays on the phone until the phone is answered.

Dialing Out

When ringing anyone on the user's pal list, the pal's Vringo auto-plays on the phone while the user waits for their pal to answer the call.

Terminate Vringo

Any of the Vringo clips that are auto-played in connection with call handling can be terminated by pressing the "c" button.
