Scanner in a pocket

This is a piece of software that I've wanted for a long time. Actually, what I really wanted was a scanner that I could take with me on business trips, so that when I'm reading a magazine or newspaper article, I could scan it for reserach purposes.

Not possible until I discovered Scanr. It costs a little bit per year, but absolutely worth every cent and the quality is great.

Better yet, you can take pictures of whiteboards after a meeting, send it to Scanr and then share it with colleagues.

Great app!

The smartest mobile software so far

This is the absolute smartest mobile software so far.
The first thing. Create pdf files just by taking a photo of a paper. And seconds later you have it in your email, or on your scanr account on the internet.
In my job as a security guard i need to fax a report when my job is finished. Now i can do this on the fly. And when i come home i have a copy on my mail. If i have a fax nearby i can take a photo of a document and send it to the fax and use the fax as copy machine.
Take a photo of a vcard, that with the help of plaxo, automatic saves it in my adressbok.
i say it again, this is the smartest software ever.

Quick and easy

I use this app all the time to share notes with my team. It's quick and easy to use. I used scanR before by sending my pics on MMS to doc@scanR.com and that worked great, but the download app makes it easy to send multiple pages.

Not in anyway usefull

As far as i'm conserned scanR is not a very usufull program and it is not the most compatable peace of software eather.
It just works on my 8360 and really slow, also I tryed it on a mates Sagem and it wasn't much better.

I highly agree with I think his name is it's Peter A. It is piontless.
Besides I can email photos of documents and other things from a built in app on my LG, I do that all the time. + there are much better apps out then this one that do this job.

Sorry to the guys that made it but it sucks.

Pointless and very disappointing

This supposed to be "application" is in fact just a picture uploader that sends your photos to a online mobile scanning service.

What is the point if you must quit the application in order to actually take a picture of the document you want to scan ???

I personally prefer to use a clientless service, such as qipit, that actually works better than scanR plus allows many other cool features such as tagging and publishing.

Good Idea.. few kinks need ironing out.. is it actually free?

Just had a quick play and it seems like a decent application, you can choose to install a S60 application, though the application crashed a couple of times when using it, but I guess there will be updates to sort this out.
The scan is uploaded to the website and you also receive a copy in your inbox.
If you don't want to use the application you can email your "pic-scans" to an email address depending on whether you want it as a whiteboard/document/business card.
Lastly is labeled as freeware but a bit of a snoop in the settings page brings the following message under Subscriptions: "scanR TRIAL gives you unlimited use of all scanR features. After an introductory period scanR will limit the trial and offer premium paid services."
